Rolex
GMT-Master Ref. 6542 "Pepsi"
Unpolished. Gilt dial. Radium lume. The original Pan Am GMT — honest, worn regulary.
This 1960 6542 example earns serious attention: the stainless steel case is unpolished, retaining its factory brushwork, sharp lug edges, and original chamfers — an increasingly rare find on any vintage Rolex, let alone the reference that started it all. The black gilt dial is all-original with intact radium lume, and the post-recall aluminum Pepsi bezel insert is period-correct for 1960 production. The bracelet is a genuine Rolex Jubilee stamped 'Hecho en Mexico,' distributed through Joske's — a legitimate period curiosity with a tight provenance story: 2nd-owner acquisition from a Beverly Hills dealer, originally worn by a Hollywood actor with deep ties to Mexico. Professionally serviced in 2021. No box or papers, but everything that matters is here and honest. This watch was also popularized in the James Bond film Goldfinger as worn by "Pussy Galore"! Movie Photo's are listed for fun and are not this actual watch.
